Signs of Eczema

Since there are actually many different forms of atopic dermatitis, it may be difficult to determine which specific form of atopic dermatitis a patient may be suffering from. However, itchiness and a skin rash are the most common symptoms.

Additional Signs of Atopic Dermatitis

  • Chronically itchy, dry, or thickened skin.
  • Itchy patches of skin that can become inflamed, or result in weepy, open sores with excessive scratching.
  • Itchy areas that progress to itchy, fluid-filled blisters.
  • atopic dermatitis in children is often found in folded areas of skin, such as elbows, necks, and knees.
